CREATION OF REGIONAL WELDING QUALIFIACTION CENTER AND AN INDEPENDENT REGIONAL AGENCY FOR CONSTRUCTION CONTROL AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
In connection with the improvement of the regulatory framework for safety and standardization in the field of construction and installation works at facilities for the use of nuclear energy, built in the countries of Southeastern Europe, BAAI Association with the support of the Russian Association of Organizations of the Construction Complex of the Nuclear Industry (ASCAO) of ROSATOM prepares the establishment of a Regional Welding Qualification Center and of an Independent Regional Agency for Construction Control and Quality Assurance.
Their creation is especially necessary in view of the current and upcoming projects of ROSATOM State Corporation in Southeastern Europe and Turkey. The Regional Welding Qualification Center will be opened in Sofia, Bulgaria and its activities will be related to the training and certification of welders, as well as to certification of welding materials, equipment and technologies in the multi-regulatory space in the countries where these projects are implemented. In addition, the center will have all the opportunities to perform coordination, engineering and consulting functions.
The Regional Agency for Construction Control and Quality Assurance will be involved in the early stages of project development with a set of inspections of the full range of materials intended for use in the construction of facilities as well as the construction technologies used.
